Upcoming Presentations

March 29th 7pm - Veterans Memorial Building

Phil Sexton, the senior historic interpreter for the Capital District of California State Parks, will discuss the building of the Transcontinental Railroad. The achievement of crossing the country with an iron road was the space program of the 19th century. Phil will link this talk to the museum's new exhibition "The Chinese and the Iron Road: The Building of the Transcontinental Railroad" by providing insight on the Chinese workers who risked life and limb to bring the transcontinental through the Sierras and across the deserts of the West.
